Hear Ye! Hear Ye! It’s a Pub Crawl!!

This will serve as registration for memberships in both a Men’s Marching Club and a Women’s Marching Club. These marching groups will become a permanent and important part of the 2023 Gretna Italian-Irish Parade and all parades in the future.

Take the Marching Membership Pub Crawl on April 2, 2022 to participate in the Gretna Italian-Irish Parade next year on March 25, 2023. The Pub Crawl is to recruit members to walk in the front of the 2023 parade with the Grand Marshalls.

Mayor Belinda Constant sent out a message about the Pub Crawl that said, “Ladies, be a part of the Italian-Irish parade! This should be another fun ladies event. Come this Saturday (April 2) to learn more.”

The $100 Registration Fee for the Pub Crawl PAYS YOUR DUES for the big parade next year, plus you will also get a polo shirt and a free beer at the beginning and end of the Pub Crawl.

Registration for the event is on Saturday, April 2 from 1:00 until 3 p.m. in front of the Rivershack, 714 1st Street in Gretna. The Pub Crawl starts from and ends at the Rivershack, along Huey P. Long Avenue from 3:00 until 5 p.m.

You can also REGISTER EARLY by going to the Gretna Welcome Center, 1035 Huey P. Long Avenue, Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

“Participating in the Pub Crawl is not a function for float riders, it’s only to form our Marching Clubs. We will have applications for floats very soon. We are still waiting on insurance numbers, etc. to compile the cost for a float. We expect the March 2023 parade to have 20 to 25 double-decker floats with 30 to 40 riders per float,”  Robbie Ventura, parade captain said.

“Besides the floats and our own Men and Women’s Marching Clubs, there will also be already established marching groups, marching bands and other marching units in the parade.

“Costumes and parade attire is separate from the float rental charges. We are trying to coordinate all services, like help with attire, and we will have a produce suppler available as well.

“We are in the process of setting up a list for those interested in renting a float for our 2023 parade. Feel free to call me or text me your name and contact info so you can be put on the list. If you have questions, call me. Don’t worry if you don’t have but 15 riders for your float, we can always combine groups to fill a float. If you have questions about the Pub Crawl, call me,” he said.
